Where can I better learn how to use recording studio equipment?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009

I’ve been using garageband for a while, but after my Mac broke down and I was stuck with Fruity Loops, I’m having trouble getting used to it.
I’m also trying to learn how to use Pro Tools.

Someone help me out, please

I would suggest going on a forum for the specific program your using and getting some tips from them….

What age is good to introduce child to musical instruments?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009

What would be an ideal age to introduce musical instruments to children without being pushy.

Does it vary between genders? And what would be the best to introduce 1st?

Thank you

As soon as possible. There is no wrong age.

Children are interested in sounds. Some children are interested in how those sounds are made and how they affect other people. Not all of them are.

It’s best if the parent plays the instruments as sort of a "modeling" behavior. But pushiness is not necessarily a bad thing. Children need guidance and discipline/boundaries — they need to know what the rules are because learning an instrument does not provide immediate gratification.

must have humbuckers on it

You should scout out the pawn shops in your area. They usually have lots, but not usually broken. Maybe the owner would work with you if they see what you need.

How do they Plug in Guitar Amps Onstage in Concerts?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009

A lot of bands do spins and stuff, and there is no plug on their guitar that leads to the amps. How do they amplify sound?

They usually have a wireless setup sothey don’t have to trip over their cord when they jump around.
Even the singers use cordless Microphones nowadays.

What kind of guitar amp speaker should I buy?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009

I have a Carvin all tube amp with a Celestion speaker circa 198?. I would like to get something a little more mellower I play rock and roll, rockabilly, Jazz, blues, not metal. I have a epiphone less paul type guitar – not quite as good.
Yes yes speaker!

Wow, nobody really read your question. You just want a speaker, right? Look at carvins web site – they have quite a few options. A higher watt speaker will not "break-up" as easily so may sound more mellow. A single 75 to 50 watt speaker should work fine. Peavey also makes good replacement speakers. Celestions tend to distort easier unless you get the higher watt models. Also, double check the ohm rating of the original – it might be a 4 ohm – so if you replace it with an 8 ohm you’ll lose some output, but gain headroom.

differences in sound between cheap and expensive electric guitars?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009

will a cheap guitar and cheap amp, not sound as good as a good guitar? i bought both the amp and ibanez guitar for $100, would a guitar around $200-$400 sound better? does the amp really matter too? and some advice on a good guitar in the $200-400 range would be nice too thanks

i bought a cheap 100 dollar guitar and it was fine but i think it depends on the brand you buy. of course if its a famous name there is a chance that it will sound better. i think in a cheaper guitar the strings are not the best quality. you should make sure you buy top quality strings and defenitly invest in a good amp. the amp that came with my guitar was a piece of garbage and i only use it when i travel.

What is the best beginner acoustic guitar?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009

I am planning on starting guitar lessons. Obviously an acoustic is the right way to go in the beginning, so I’m wondering if anyone can give me suggestions as to what guitar I should pick up. I heard the Seagull S6 is a good choice for a reasonable price.

Can someone suggest an acoustic guitar that is under 500 dollars with a good rich sound?

Ideally, the guitar could be found in the bay area (california, like san francisco) :)

Thanks!

the best bet is any ibanez product. I personally prefer Fender products, but they can prove to be expensive(300-400).Ibanez puts out good starter instruments with good features and are affordable to start .A entry level acoustic or electric could run 200-300 dollars.
Then when you get your skill up, ditch it and buy a Fender. They tend to have a resale value.
