about how much will the total cost be?
Probably best to google it. The answers to this will be really varied. Also depends on what you plan on doing. You doing vocals or live instruments? Need a mic. Got a mic then you will need a pre-amp with usb output. Get a pre-amp with guitar inputs and mic inputs. That will make it easier. But basically all you would need was a pre-amp with usb output then get Cubase or Pro Tools or Cakewalk or Magix Music Maker or Adobe Audition or a similar recording software suite. You can do this with a USB mic but you won’t get very good sound at all.
Cost of pre- amp is like $150.
Cost of a decent mic is like $100
Recording software would be around $200-$700.
Software is free if you know how to find free software.
Probably a good idea to virus scan whatever you get that is free though first.
Virustotal.com is good for that but it may take a while.
Having said all this you will probably find the learning curve in most recording software to be really steep. I’ve only used Cubase and Pro Tools and Audition. I honestly don’t have a clue what I’m doing in any of them and I probably do it all wrong but I can record and it sounds pretty good.

I would love to start an online business selling musical instruments, mainly Yamaha keyboards and digital pianos. I have experience in both the music business and and the retail industry.
Would I need to contact yamaha to declare myself a wholesaler? and what are the best deals/costs for setting up a commercial website?
cheers
Online shoppers want variety and low prices because they can navigate away in a second if you don’t have what they want. It’s very hard to compete with large online distributors. They have the ability to buy in bulk and can pass their reduced prices on to the customers plus they have extensive warehouse and shipping facilities not to mention extensive inventories.
Your best bet would be to find a niche market and specialize in it and use affiliate programs from places like Amazon, etc. A well crafted web site can get a lot of traffic, some of whom will buy something from the online stored linked on your site and then you get a cut.

I’m thinking of starting a business of selling handmade electric guitars (made by yours truly), but I’m not sure how well they would sell online. I want to start there because guitars don’t sell too well around here.
If made with good quality and you post a great number of pictures on you website showing the product, they should sell fairly well.
As others have mentioned, it will take time to build a name for yourself, but once that is done, you will get repeat buiness for many years to come…

i’m looking for a quality guitar amp that’s under $75. i know nothing about amps. is it possible to get a good one for my budget?
For $75, you really won’t find anything new that’d be worth bothering with. If you’re just looking for something to practice with, you can get a decent headphone amp for around $40, and these new Vox ones actually sound quite good:
http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Vox-Amplug-AC30-Headphone-Amp?sku=481676
I have the AC30 model, and I’d highly recommend it, as you can keep it in a guitar case, or even your pocket, and it’ll give you decent clean tones all the way to a fairly heavy overdriven sound.
Unless you absolutely need to be heard, I’d suggest going this route until you have more money available. Any guitar amps you’ll find under $120 or so really aren’t built well, and they won’t only sound bad, but they’re likely to only last you a short while.

My dad wanted to get me a guitar today for like 200$ AND the amp.But luckily, yesterday he won the lottery and he won 500$.So now I can afford a much better guitar.
So what guitar and amp costs 300-500$ and has good quality?
Never EVER buy a guitar/amp combo starter pack. Start off with a decent guitar in the 300$ range and save up for an amp. I personally like Ibanez Artcore’s and and they’re right under 300. As for amps I’m using a Peavey Vypyr right now, it’s a surprisingly nice modelling amp that doesn’t cost a lot of money, I think I got it for right at 200$.

I have been playing a 7 string electric guitar for quite some time and Im just wondering if i should buy an acoustic because I REAL:LY want to become a professional at my playing. So would buying an acoustic guitar be relevent?
That depends on what you want to be a pro at? If you’re already a pro at electric and ready to try something new then buy an acoustic. If you’re just going to be playing electric then don’t bother with an acoustic. I’m just starting on an acoustic and then I’m planning on getting an electric when I get good.

How many Electric Bass guitars are there across the entire globe. simple question really.. thank for any info!
ie, how many electric bass guitars, nothing else, not stand up, no stick tub bass, no bass pedals, just pure electric bass guitars. 4 string, 5 string, or 6. would the number be close to 1 million or maybe 5 million?
Maybe 20 Million, but more are always being made.
They’re not rare, you know that right?

I’ve been learning on an electric guitar and I’m looking for an acoustic now. I’ve had trouble in the past with acoustic because the body is so big and I have a hard time wrapping my arms around it.
Are there good quality acoustic guitars that are easier for girls to play? Price is not an issue and I’d rather stick to the well known brands.
