I am currently using two M Audio Delta 1010 cards on my recording PC setup, but I still have an ADAT LX20 which is not being used (but I dont want to sell it!)

Does anyone know if you can use an ADAT card to lightpipe 8 inputs from the ADAT machine to the computer, while still using the M Audio ASIO drivers for audio in/out, or would it be a case of either/or?

If an ADAT card would still allow the use of the M Audio’s ASIO drivers at the same time, this would open up 8 more inputs, but if it would not work, there is no point buying one.

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

Good question… M-Audio makes a standalone ADAT lightpipe IO, but you would have to contact them to see if it would work with your 1010s (it may be able to use the same ASIO drivers).

For the cost to update that (and the cost to repair your ADAT machine if something goes wrong) you’re probably better off selling the ADAT, if you can get anything for it… with the M-audio Microtrack you might be able to use the SPDIF output to go into your system, and you’d have a stand-alone 2 track recorder in case you want to work on location easily.

I’m doing a project on a musical instrument that originated from Taiwan. But, i can’t find anything! Probably b/c Taiwan is such a small country.

look into the history of the native island people of Taiwan, as well as any unique instruments found in other ancient cultures which quite likely originated from Taiwan such as the Philippines, Malaysia, New Guinea and New Zealand.

(Ethno-linguistic evidence links these cultures to being sourced from Taiwanese natives- prior to the arrival of settlers from China or the Portugese occupation.)

Perhaps this can help you. The Maori in NZ have a lot of research documentation on their instruments and traditional lifestyle, you can see if any of their traditional instruments have any related ones to Taiwan or the other areas I mentioned.

Perhaps the Maori and other related tribes should ally together and claim the entire South Pacific Island area as their motherland with Taiwan as the central Island. Its as legitimate a claim as the idea that Taiwan belongs to China, and has a lot more historical backing.

Where could you order a Rickenbacker guitar preferably a Rickenbacker 325 or something similar(Looks similar) online? I checked Guitar Center and Musician’s Friend.

Have you tried to see where Rickenbacker have said their dealers are? Look on their site first and see, also check and see if they still produce the 325 as I am not aware if they do reissues or not. I believe they do, but I think it will be hard to get one. Ebay is an obvious look out, so try ebay
