I want to buy a bass guitar, but every time I get close to having enough money to buy it, I end up spending it on something else.

I can’t have a garage sale because a lot of the things I use will go to my little brother, or we give them to poor people in Nicaragua.

By the way, I’m fourteen.

In order to have money you need to learn how to save money and this starts with a savings account, your parents can help you with this they will know what to do. Second get your self a job. I know your 14 but there are things you can do; you can mow lawns i.e. charge $20 or $30 depending on size or just a flat rate for all say $25, you can start a dog walking service i.e. charge $5 for small $10 for large, you can babysit, my sitter charges me $5 per hour, but if you go that route it is a good idea to be certified in chocking and CPR. If you want to know more about those ask your school or look in your local directory under training or certification. Otherwise you can do odd jobs for your neighbors or talk to your parents they just might be willing to help. Good luck!

The PS22 Chorus of 2009 has some fun with Coldplay’s Grammy nominated song Viva La Vida, the amazing new hit single from the album of the same name. Hope it sweeps the Grammies! I love watching them sing this one, and it has kind of a different sound and feel on the guitar than the previously posted piano and acapella versions, so I thought it merited YouTubeage….

April sings the solo and sounds better than ever on this one.

Learning guitar, like any musical instrument, requires patience and time commitment. I can understand that it is harder for adults to learn to play an instrument with a busy schedule. I have been pretty much like you, always wanted to learn to play and never got the opportunity. So finally last October, I began researching for guitar learning courses online.

I found tons of free resources online for free, which got me going (just google keywords like free guitar chord guide etc). So I was able to collect and use a lot of free resources online. I’ve been looking for a bass guitar for my boyfriend for his birthday. I have seen a few different brands – Squier and Ibanez seem to be common. I’ve found an Ibanez bass, but it has 5 strings. I know that my boyfriend usually plays on 4 strings…is there much of a difference? Is Ibanez a very good brand? What about Squier? Anything else I should know? Thanks!

Whether or not a brand is "good" depends on whether or not the individual likes their instruments. Ibanez and Squier are reputable brands so you will not be buying garbage from them, but it’s impossible to know whether or not he would like them. Finding the right instrument is usually up to the player to decide.

Squier instruments are pretty much for beginners, but they can be fun for more experienced players to mess around with. You can make a ton of modifications to them and turn them into unique instruments without risking damage to an expensive one.

Im planning to buy my first guitar soon and i am leaning towards the acoustic guitar, i was looking online and i found there was such thing as an electric acoustic guitar, now i am caught in between both, which one should i get and what is the difference.

An electric acoustic guitar is just a acoustic guitar with a built in pick up so you can plug it into a amp or pa. An regular acoustic cannot plug in to a amp and be amplified except using a microphone to mic to the guitar.
