unlike human beings …
unlike human beings…looks actually matter too! The difference in sound is subtle and most top guitar makers will make a good looking guitar sound good. I;ve had more people compliment on my better looking guitars than my more humble ones…that just shows…they aren’t really listening..A cheaper one can sound like a Martin guitar but few will admit it.

Mostly projection, …
Mostly projection, and dreadnoughts have a more rythmic sort of sound, real bassy. Auditorium styles are made for stuff like fingerpicking, and soft strumming. For examples look up Dan Tyminski or Ron Block (dreadnought) and Eric Clapton unplugged or John Mayer unplugged(orchestra/auditorium styles). Sorry for the Martin biasing.
