if u listen to what he says at the beginning and pay attention to the top right corner he is showing the difference between the mic tone and the pickup and yes it is plugged in.. he is using a right angle jack.

i have 2 acoustic guitars but im not familiar with soundhole pick ups. like do u need an acoustic electric, or do they just work like popping it onto the sound hole and playing on any acoustic?

You don’t say whether the Sunrise is using a preamp? The mics certainly are (they need it and so does the sunrise). So what type of preamp and EQ settings are being used?

i don’t have my tuner right now, but try putting a chromatic tuner up to the computer speakers, and see what chord you get at 0:57. Whateer it is that is the open tuning, google ho to tune to that open chord and there is your answer.

Not entirely fair …
Not entirely fair to compare a stereo mic signal to a mono pickup signal…especially damped in that much reverb.
