i bought a Vintage V300 acoustic. and am very impressed. It is better than other guitars i've owned 3 x 4 times the price. I paid £90 for it last year.

VINTAGE V300 ACOUSTIC FOLK GUITAR WITH SOLID SPRUCE TOP

The Vintage V300 acoustic guitar was selected by The Guitar Magazine as the "Best Acoustic Guitar Under £1000". "This little concert acoustic is stonkingly good," continued TGM, adding, "A comfortable, fast playing neck, plus good dynamics and volume from the parlour-esque body. At this price, go buy. Every home should have one."

The Vintage V300 is a full scale length acoustic folk guitar, but with a smaller, curvier body reminiscent of early acoustic guitars. The smaller physical size makes the V300 a perfect choice for beginners. But the smaller body and the V300's solid spruce top produces an incredible tone and balanced tone which pro's will appreciate.

With its solid spruce top and eco-conscious nato wood neck, the Vintage V300 acoustic folk guitar represents an ideal introduction to playing full size acoustic guitars. The Vintage V300 is a straightforward no-frills performance acoustic folk guitar with traditional looks that has much to offer guitarists of all abilities.

Here is a top 10 of great priced guitars these are all great guitars especially the top 3
i really like the seagull S6 £260 and the takamine g-series £195 great guitars!!! kinda pricey though but very much worth it!!!
and the yamaha FG700S Folk Acoustic Guitar is very good too and more in the price range your looking for you can find it for around £130 - £150
http://guitar.about.com/od/acousticguitar/tp/top5acoustics.htm

And do yourself a favor dont listen to the guy who answered below me he obviously knows nothing about guitars because the guitar he's telling you is so great SUCKS!!!!!

trust me it goes out of tune, has no tone, poorly
constructed, poor customer service, most guitar
shops wont carry it due to the poor craftsmanship
and poor customer service to get problems fixed
I have played one and I know poor quality when I
hear it!!!!! Im a professional musician and have
                 played for 16 yrs.
References :
here is a currency converter if needed
http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/convert?amt=1&from=USD&to=GBP&submit=Convert
also here are some reviews about the vintage VE 300 guitar the other guy suggested..........
Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
This is my second VE300, the first was sent back as neck and bridge were misplaced. This one has also been sent back with a split neck-block.

There are also finish flaws and kerfing is not glued cleanly or well inside.

Reliability/Durability : 1
Frankly I have lost faith in this product and will be looking at an alternative with a similar spec. but one that is not made at 5.15 on a Friday afternoon! Afterall if two come to me with neck-joint problems then what else has been fudged?

Customer Support : 2
Lets see, thay've got my guitar now.
I did try to ring when I first got the guitar to find out what the body wood is website says mahog others say nato - I got put on hold and passed through several staff before I could get the answer, to then be told that nato is mahogany!!??
Also have heard they are pretty naff to deal with, some shops won't stock JHS because of poor service.

Overall Rating : 1
I love all the features, it's clearly a well designed guitar and sounds pretty good for it's money, but having bought it on the back of good reviews I'm bitterly dissapointed. I won't even risk a third replacement, the production is clearly not as well supervised as it used to be and should not even have left the factory.

~there are alot of good reviews out there too about this guitar but its also littered with bad reviews~
