What kind of acoustic guitar should i buy?
buy acoustic guitar February 17th, 2010i am 13 years old and i want to start playing th acoustic guitar. does anyone know where i can buy a good quality guitar for cheap?
I suggest you buy used from a store like Guitar Center. You can readily get good quality used guitars for half the price. You have to know what to look for, so take someone along who plays and owns guitars. Their ears and eyes will help guide you. Otherwise the guitar store sales guys can feed you a line. If you want to buy on-line, go to the Musicians Friend website for some really good deals on pretty good and quality guitars. And if you don’t mind small blemishes, they have a Scratch ‘n dent section where you can really save some serious money on good brands. Otherwise, you may check your local pawn shops for some used cheapies.

Try going to garage sales. There might be a "closet queen" set next to a hat rack someplace. You may also try searching around pawn shops or just keep your eyes open at your local music stores for sales and used instruments.
* a "closet queen" is a good quality guitar that has just been sitting in a closet for years.*

Why don’t you go on eBay and take a look. Buy him a few sets cuz it gets really cheap when you buy bulk on da Bay. Just search on eBay with the terms " guitar strings " and u’ll see all the different recommendations

A great brand for starting players is Yahama. But as usual, go to your local guitar store and check out your options. Whatever sounds best and feels right in your hands, is what you should buy. If you end up buying a guitar that you don’t like, you are most likely not going to end up wanting to play anymore.
Hope I Helped.

you’re not going to get good AND cheap. At most you’ll find cheap and "halfway decent".
Yamaha and Ibanez are examples of that.
If you want good, think Takamine, Taylor, or Martin, and pay the price. Not cheap, but still good value for money.
