Do Cool Cat pedals work with bass guitars?

I’m thinking of buying a Danelectro Cool Cat distortion pedal, and I’m wondering if it will work with my bass guitar as well?
If it doesn’t, are there any other good, cheap distortion pedals that work with both?
Effects pedals are designed to be used for either guitar or bass, but this is mostly because of the frequencies they boost/cut and sound that they give. You can technically use a guitar distortion pedal for a bass, although it will probably suck out a lot of the lows and leave you with a very trebly tone.

Just to clarify….
They are both the same…they do not have different necks like Ted mentioned. Also, "humbuckers" are not a brand of pick-up, its a style.
The only difference I can see from the decriptions given is that the second instrument has the pick-ups slightly tilted which they claim will give a better string to string balance.
Go to the store, pick them up and see what you like.
