what is a cheap electric guitar that i can buy?

Posted by admin on May 3rd, 2010

I want to buy an electric guitar, but the ones iv seen cost alot, is there elctric guitars that you guys know that are cheap. Thanx for the help :)

The Epiphone Les Paul Special II or the Fender Squire Affinity Telecaster or Stratocaster is about the cheapest guitars you can find without giving up too much quality and still have a great playing guitar. I have owned and played both brands and had no problems whatsoever. Sometimes you just need a guitar you can play out with and not worry about it like a 2,000.00 guitar you can use in the studio. these guitars only cost 169.00 and 179.00 respectively and with free shipping. That is cheap for a good quality guitar with a name you can trust! These guitars play almost as well as the most expensive models so they are good for live performances and they are absolutely good for smashing!

I hope this helps!

I have seen really expensive and dirt cheap electric guitars. They all look the same to me.?

Posted by admin on April 7th, 2010

If you know anything about guitars can you please answer this question for me?
What are you buying besides the appearance of the guitar or the name. Is there an electric guitar that is so bad that you should stay away from it or that particular brand. I am looking to find a guitar that is good for beginners that will produce a decent sound when you try to duplicate songs. Any recommendations? Any and all further input is appreciated.

I try to stay away from the Chinese ones,
most use green uncured wood, that tends to warp and crack

The cheap guitars use cheap woods,
poor quality and grades
they look the same, but they aren’t

the necks on the cheapies tend to play badly, warp, buzz etc,
One simple way of cutting costs, is to use green woods
If you don’t cure it properly it won’t stay straight.

They use child labor, for pennies a day.
The electronics are poor cheap quality,
cheap pickups, cheap wiring, etc

All things that you can’t see, but really affect the quality
how the guitar plays, sounds
how long it lasts etc

I feel that you have to spend more than $200, to get any thing any good.
It cost about $100 just to make a decent neck.

Electric Guitar Canon Rock in D Major

Posted by admin on March 26th, 2010

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION, I’M NOT THE ONE PLAYING. SO DON’T ASK QUESTIONS LIKE: DO YOU HAVE THE TABS?

IF you want the mp3 file, search in Ares or Limewire (i’m not sure if you can in iTunes) for: Canon Rock, or Canon Rock in D Major by jerry c

It’s a South Korean 23 year old person that plays Canon Rock in D Major in electric guitar. (NOT ME) In the video has the drums, violins etc.. as background music, but the guy is playing the guitar.

This is what wikipedia says about him:

Jeong-Hyun Lim
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jeong-Hyun Lim,(Ko:임정현) also known by the online alias funtwo, is a 23-year-old South Korean guitarist known for his cover of JerryC’s Canon Rock. Lim has been playing the electric guitar for 6 years (self-taught, though he attended formal guitar lessons for only one month in 2000).

Lim attended Auckland University in New Zealand before moving to Seoul, but plans to return to New Zealand in March to continue his degree in Technology. He says: “I think the quiet and peaceful circumstances of Auckland really helped my musical motivation.” He says that whilst living in Remuera, Auckland he was a musical catalyst.

Jeong-Hyun Lim played and recorded his cover of Canon Rock during 2005. On October 23, 2005 he first posted his Canon Rock Video on a Korean Online Community called Mule.

Funtwo’s cover of Canon Rock had garnered 15 million views, over thirty-eight thousand comments and favorited over one hundred and nine thousand times, as of Feb 20, 2007. It is the fifth most viewed, most discussed, and second most favorited video on YouTube. It has been mentioned on CNN, 20/20, The New York Times, and National Public Radio in addition to MBC news, KBS news, and other Korean news stations.

Many viewers have speculated and thought the video as fake since the music is not in proper sync with the video. Lim later stated to The New York Times that this had to do with the fact that “[...] he says he recorded the audio and video independently and then matched them inexactly.”[2]

Due to the initial secrecy surrounding the guitar player in his video, several other people have claimed to be Funtwo. One of these was Alfonso Candra, a 12 year old classical pianist who performed ‘Canon Rock’ for a small crowd at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington, DC in August of 2006.

What are some good cheap electric guitars?

Posted by admin on March 18th, 2010

I’m looking for a nice quality electric guitar but I don’t want to go over $300. Please tell me specific guitar models. Links would help too. Thanx!

If you’re new to playing electric, I’d recommend Ibanez. They’re built like rocks, sound amazing and are often nicer than guitars costing twice as much. They’re also known for having really thin necks and low action, so they’re much more comfortable to play than most brands. Epiphone guitars are also great, but the necks are really chunky, which can make them challenging to play. Ideally, you should go to a guitar store and test drive a bunch of different brands, since each will have its own feel. And if you compare a bunch of guitars side by side, chances are you’ll find one that just feels like it belongs in your hands.

Here are some links to guitars worth considering:

Ignore anyone who tells you there’s no such thing as a great guitar for less than $300. Those people are just snobs who are hung up on brand names. I bought a second-hand Ibanez more than 20 years ago figuring I’d use it to learn and then upgrade to a Fender. I eventually did get the Fender (and a bunch of other guitars), but the old Ibanez is still my primary guitar for both recording and playing live because the sound is incredible and it’s the most playable guitar I’ve ever owned.

About how much is a cheap electric guitar?

Posted by admin on March 16th, 2010

cheap as in money. I am learning on an acoustic, but I want to try an electric.

If you want something cheap, go for one of those starter packs where you get the guitar and a little amplifier, cables and a tuner. It won´t be the best quality in the world, and you probably won´t get it sounding like Rage against the machine on that amp, but its a good place to start, then when you are better you can get something a bit more expensive.

Try this pack by yamaha for 270 dollars:

Or this one from ibanez for 199 dollars:

Cheap Electric Guitars? Prices?

Posted by admin on March 14th, 2010

Im kinda bored with my old acoustic, looking to buy a cheap electric guitar with an amp. All the guitars on ebay dont include amps and are usually like 500 bucks. I know walmart has those cheap crappy 80 dollar electrics and i think including amp. Does anyone own any of those walmart ones? and are they any good?
also does anyone know any cheap and good guitars? i heard the fender starcaster isnt too pricy

There are some decent cheapy combo packs at Guitar Center, Sam Ash, etc., but you’re probably better off just going through Musician’s Friend. They ship free and don’t charge tax, plus you won’t have to haul it home from the store.

Most of those Ibanez or Epiphone packages are a great place to start and are usually around $200 for everything. I bought this Epiphone one for my ex and it was decent. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Junior-Electric-Gutiar-and-All-Access-Amp-Pack?sku=513158
