Ordering guitars online?

Posted by admin on June 22nd, 2010

I really want this epiphone les paul that they sell at this store nearby my house, but i don’t have enough money to buy it. it costs 500$ at the store, but i found this website called sweetwater.com, and i found that epiphone les paul and it only costs 300$. i have 300$, and i’m thinking about ordering it online, but i always hear bad things about ordering instruments online. like they arrive broken, missing strings, etc. it says free 2-year warrentee, lifetime tech support, and free shipping. sounds kinda fishy, but i really want this guitar. should i wait a little more and make 500$ and buy the one at the store?

here’s the link : http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ENBHSCH/

I’ve been ordering from Sweetwater for years now, they’re a great company you can trust. I’ve never ordered a guitar from them, but if you have any problems with the instrument on arrival I trust the company would get you sorted out just fine. I have however ordered 2 electric guitars, 1 acoustic, 1 violin and 1 trumpet from musiciansfriend.com over the years. If you’ve ever heard of the chain Guitar Center, it’s the same company. All instuments arrived in perfect condition, didn’t need to make any adjustments at all.

where to buy guitars online?

Posted by admin on June 19th, 2010

im trying to buy my first guitar, and theres no guitar/music shops in or near my town.. that i no of. so is there any good trusted websites where i can buy a guitar online? and is it a good idea to buy a guitar online? or should buying a guitar be like buying cloths xD lmao, like, u gotta be there in person to see if u like it..

i think i can really help you. selecting a first guitar is something you will eater be thrilled that you made the right choice or really annoyed with wanting something better or different. i would diffidently say buying a guitar online is better than buying from a store because then it hasn’t been played and perhaps damaged by 10,000 people. though i would recommend trying out the guitar you are looking at first it seems in your situation that really isnt an option. i would say that you should watch videos of whatever guitar you like and decide if you like it based on that. if you dont then send it back. my personal preference is for acoustic buy Taylor, and for Electric buy Epiphone or Gibson. i use http://www.musiciansfriend.com/ for all of my musical needs. ive bought both my acoustic and my electric from it and the majority of my pedal board so i can say it is a highly trusted site.
Hope this was helpful and good luck

Avalon guitars? How to purchase one online from their site?

Posted by admin on June 16th, 2010

I love Avalon guitars, they tend to always be used by percussive-acoustic artists, which is a field I’m pursuing…but I want to purchase one safely online (not from e-bay) and can’t seem to figure out how to buy one from their website?

Any help would be appreciated!

Um I’m not sure, but are you talking about these guitars:

Where can I buy cool looking guitars online?

Posted by admin on May 21st, 2010

http://www.lunaguitars.com/
http://www.parkerguitars.com/
http://www.godinguitars.com/

Some of the best built, coolest looking and sounding guitars I’ve seen. I have a Parker and it is an incredible guitar (the Fishmann piezos are great). Oh, I got it new on Ebay for about half what they retail for in the music stores (if you can even find one in a music store near you). I agree that you don’t want to get a cheap guitar on Ebay, but if you’re careful and know what you’re looking for, you can get some incredible deals. And the chain stores like Guitar Center only sell the big brands like Ibanez, Dean, Epiphone, Yamaha, Takamine, Fender, Gibson, and Schecter. Heaven forbid you want something a bit different than what everyone else plays.

Where can I find a large selection of 7-string guitars online?

Posted by admin on May 5th, 2010

I am a guitarist and have been playing for 6+ years and I have been thinking about buying a 7-string guitar. I’m pretty sure that I want one; I’ve played a few and the extended range capabilities seem handy. I’m looking for a website that offers a wide selection of 7-strings.

Here is the best selection I could find. People I did not even know made a 7-string version are here.

They don’t seem to sell guitars at this sight but you can shop for what you want here and the order one from your favorite local or online dealer.

Enjoy!

Look for Ed Roman guitars. I think they are based in Las Vegas.

What does everyone think about online guitar lessons versus lessons from an instructor?

Posted by admin on April 27th, 2010

I need help deciding whether to get guitar lessons online or go to an actual instructor.

When learning an instrument, an actual teacher is the only way to go. Online studies might teach you a few chords, but that’s no substitute for personal instruction.

Interested in learning guitar online – any good tips?

Posted by admin on April 21st, 2010

I have always been interested in learning to play the guitar. But with a pretty hectic schedule, I’ve found it hard to find a good guitar instructor and the time to sit for lessons. Wondering if people on yahoo can provide tips and suggestions on learning guitar online.

Thanks.!

Gary,

Learning guitar, like any musical instrument, requires patience and time commitment. I can understand that it is harder for adults to learn to play an instrument with a busy schedule. I have been pretty much like you, always wanted to learn to play and never got the opportunity. So finally last October, I began researching for guitar learning courses online.

I found tons of free resources online for free, which got me going (just google keywords like free guitar chord guide etc). So I was able to collect and use a lot of free resources online. One such resource has helped me as they have free guitar training videos and tons of free guitar learning tools: http://www.guitarsourceonline.com

Hope this helps…..
