Sure, that would be to prevent the string from slipping further, and keep in mind that the string keep stretching for a very long time (slowly).
That means a hard time trying to tune, which will never really stay tune after playing.

It’s such a shame to show people the wrong way.
This is NOT a proper way to install strings.
You need to make a “locking knot” before wrapping.
Wound Strings and Plain Strings install differantly too.
