There’s a 1977 old acoustic guitar for sale. Is it Worth getting?
guitars for sale February 5th, 2010Someone is selling an old acoustic guitar for $15.00. Not sure what kind it is yet. They said it needs to be restrung.Would the music store be able to restring it?What kind of strings do I buy if I do get it.? How much would they cost? Is it even worth it to buy it and get it restrung or should I just wait until I can afford a new guitar? Thanks.
There are too many things that you need to do.
First, find out what the brand name is as well as the model number and check it out of eBay.
Second, you really need to know condition, restringing is not serious (you can do that), but find out if there are other issues – warped neck, the heel separating from the body of the guitar, splits in the top, back and sides, and things like that.
When you find out what the model is, find out if it is steel string or classical. Steel strings take a higher tension string than classicals. Classicals use nylon strings on the bottom 2 and wound strings on the top four.
$15 is not a deal if you can’t play it.

the 1st poster gave you very good answers
you have many questions that are difficult to answer, about a guitar we have never seen?
It probably has problems, but we have no way of knowing?
