Buying Guitars online?
guitars online February 17th, 2010i want to buy an esp guitar but none of the local retailers sell them, do you think it would be safe to buy online and get a good guitar?
It’s always best to play a guitar before you buy it. But, sometimes you have you heart set on something and you know you want it. Musiciansfriend.com does great shipping and the product is always in great shape. They also have a return policy if you dno’t happen to like your purchase.
But, I’d say its a safe bet if thats what you want. My buddy ordered a bass off of musiciansfriend.com that he never played, got it and loved it.
Good luck

yes. but not from ebay. i once bought a guitar from ebay for 30 dollars, i guess it was my fault. it sounded horrible, it never stayed in tune and paint got off easily. never buy a cheap guitar from ebay.
but i do recommend some websites to buy them from.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com
http://www.zzounds.com
before you buy an item, it is a good idea to check the reviews and ratings.
good luck!

Better makers product is pretty uniform, (no experience with ESP),
but I’d still prefer to ‘audition’ an instrument before I ‘plunk down the cash’.
Electrics have a lot less individual character than acoustics though.

Yes. I’ve bought several guitars online because I’m left-handed and they are difficult to find locally. In addition to the names mentioned, here are some others:

I highly recommend Musician’s Friend, since I’ve bought six guitars there and they always arrived in pristine condition and were ready to play after a few twists of the hex wrench (some didn’t even require that). MF also has a really simple return policy, in case you’re not happy with the guitar or it’s damaged in transit. I’ve never had to return a guitar, but a case arrived damaged once and MF issued a call tag, shipped out a new case immediately, and all it took was one quick phone call. Plus, you’ll get free shipping, which is always nice.
I’m sure you already have Musician’s Friend in your favorites list, but here’s a link to the ESP guitars, just in case:

Good choice going with ESP! I’m sure you’ll be thrilled when that box arrives at your doorstep. Good luck!
