The best and easiest way to learn is with lessons from a good local instructor. Nothing is better then someone sitting in the same room with you explaining exactly what you need to know and whom you can ask a specific question. Only a instructor sitting there with you can point out that you are holding your hand or fingers wrong and show you exactly how to correct it. Only a real instructor can gauge your progress from week to week and give you feedback on your progress

Just use books/dvds, teacher yourself, or use youtube.

No use youtube just look up whatever you want to learn and there will be someone that has uploaded a good instructional video for it.

Although your best bet is to study with a teacher, here are some of the better lesson sites out there:

I recommend trying to find a local teacher if you can. Assuming you find a competent teacher (many of them aren’t remotely competent), you can learn more in a single lesson from a teacher in person than you will from months of studying online lessons. A teacher can guide you through things that you will probably learn incorrectly if you learn them on your own. A good teacher will also teach you in a structured way. It will be difficult to do this on your own using only online lessons.

Lots of guitar programs on the web but beware, not all of them are worth your time. I can only speak from experience…. I’ve used a particular ebook and video course when I was a beginner and it did wonders for me (i’m self-taught btw)… see the source below for the link. Hope this helps!
