Unlike with a wind/percussive instrument, you can create whole songs with just yourself and an acoustic guitar; it is all you need to be a singer/songwriter. And you can play almost any genre. EDIT: It's also the cheapest option; you can spend as little as £80 on a very good acoustic guitar. I've been playing guitar and bass (electric and acoustic) for at least 5 years and I regularly use my first ever, £89 Countryman acoustic guitar. It has been dropped, kicked, dragged on and off the beach and has had the odd drop of booze spilt on it, and it's still a quality instrument.<br><b>References : </b><br> It has got to be an acoustic guitar.
